Foundations and Pre-Calculus 10
This course is designed to provide students with mathematical understandings and critical thinking skills identified for post secondary studies in both the arts and the sciences. Topics include trigonometry, irrational numbers, powers involving integral and rational exponents, polynomials, relations and functions, system of linear equations, sequences and series, and financial literacy.. Students may write a Provincial Numeracy Exam in June. At the end of this course, students are prepared for Apprenticeship and Workplace 11, Foundations of Mathematics 11, or Pre-Calculus 11.

Scientific Calculators are permitted for this course EXCEPT Casio fx 300 ES, fx 300 ES plus, fx 350ES, fx 991ES, fx 991 ES plus, fx 570ES, fx 500ES, fx 82ES plus, and TI 30XS Multiview, and no graphing calculators needed.
Waterloo Math Contests (Pascal, Cayley and Fermat): These contests, for the Grades 9-11 students, will be written in the morning of February 25th, 2020. Please see your math teacher for more information and to register. To view past contests and full solutions, visit the CEMC website.
